Engagement

Amy & Jordan

We took Amy and Jordan's engagement photos at the Riverwoods in Orem.  They are a super casual couple, and were great to hang around.  No stress, no worries.  Jordan is over a foot taller than his lovely bride-to-be, and so we had fun getting creative with some of our posing.

I loved the VW bus we found.  It was rad.

You can see all of Amy and Jordan's photos here.

Tara and Chris Pt 2

As promised, here are some of the finished set from Tara and Chris' engagement session in Park City. I love working with these two- they both are so sweet and are happy to do whatever it takes to get the photo. Even if it means wading through a hip-deep snow drift to get to the fence! :)

Kelsey and Brandon

Park City is one of my absolute favorite places to shoot, and Kelsey and Brandon have been some of the most awesome clients to work with!

Take a look at the full gallery for Kelsey and Brandon here.

Chelsea and Dan

Everyone has something quirky and unique about them.  Something that when you find it out, it changes how you view them a little bit, and helps you see a side that you never had before.... like when you find that your bride and groom can break dance.  AWESOME.

The sky at Saltair was incredible!

I love dramatic shots, I love beautiful skies and gorgeous colors, but what I still love most is to shoot happy people.

Anna and Robbie

For Anna and Robbie's engagement shoot we went to Anna's home in Wallsburg up Provo Canyon.  Her family lives in this amazing old house that used to be a dairy farm when the area was first settled.  The town is very small, quiet, and has some pretty breathtaking views!

Anna's father is incredible- he made this working replica of a U.S. Mail Studebaker.  He's been working on it eight years and it is absolutely gorgeous.

Mika and Francois

Now, if you follow my posts y'all know I am from Austin, Texas.  Winter for us included about two snow days a year growing up, and any time it got below 32 degrees the entire city pretty much shut down. Our standard daytime low was about 40 or 45 degrees.  So coming to Utah makes it a little depressing one third of the year.  I don't really do well with single digit weather!  However, Mika and Francois were just so cute with their outfits and did so well braving the bitter cold the day of their engagements that it started to change my mind.  I mean, cold weather can be a great romance booster!  You can go get some delicious hot chocolate from the bakery, you get to wear colorful scarves, it's a great excuse to cuddle up and get close to someone.... it can be a lot of fun!
So thanks guys, for opening my eyes a bit more to the better side of these winter days.

Tara & Chris Pt 1

After I posted the teaser photo from Tara and Chris' engagement shoot in Park City, I realized I never posted the photos from their "save the date" session!  This was back in early fall, with all the gorgeous colors!  In a way, it's great I forgot to post this- about this time of winter I'm done with the cold and grey, and I am ready for summer again.  Bring on the green, the flowers, and the feel of grass under my toes!

The photo below is one of my favorite photos I have ever taken.  The expressions here are absolutely priceless.

The colors in the sky were unreal.  Pastels all around!

Weren't these two fantastic models?  So many different emotions across the photos: giddiness, happiness, tenderness, silliness, contentment....

Check out their full gallery here!  It's chock-full of awesomeness.

Too dang cute

Here's a sneak peek of a photoshoot I did with Tara and Chris up at Park City today.  I am amazed that this was the very first picture taken (it usually takes a while to loosen up and look natural), but it's my favorite from the day!

I love weddings because people are happy.  I love taking pictures of happy people. I love seeing that they like each other, that they enjoy each other's company, and when they are relaxed and real.  I shoot a variety of photos... dramatic, serious, traditional, artistic, silly... But when I can capture their happiness, I know I've succeeded.
