Kandis & Greg- LDS Salt Lake Temple Wedding

I love this couple.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again- these are the some of the nicest, most easy-going people I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with.  Someone actually stepped on the back of Kandis' dress and ripped it, and Kandis didn't even break a sweat.  She gave a big smile, said "Oh, it's fine!" and kept on going.  She was just happy to be married to the man of her dreams.

Just look how gorgeous Kandis is!  Greg is one lucky guy, and he shows that he knows it every time he looks at her.

Be sure to check out all of Kandis and Greg's photos in their full galleries here.

Danica & Ryan: The Wedding Day

Danica and Ryan's wedding day was gorgeous- lots of sunny blue skies, and lots of high temperatures.  The exact kind of day when you think about the phrase "late July wedding".

Danica and Ryan both loved the Wes Anderson film "Fantastic Mr Fox."  Can you tell? :)

It was so warm outside we just got a few quick newlywed photos, and then it was off to the Springville Museum of Art to relax and cool off before the reception started....

If you are looking for a nice reception venue in Utah County near Provo, and specifically want one with an outdoor, almost-backyard feel, you might want to look at the Springville Museum of Art.

I am a sucker for baked goods.... cookies, cake, and especially cup cakes!  Little bite-sized ones are very dangerous, because if it's just a bite, then before you know it you've eaten about 5 or 6.

Best way to cool off on a hot summer day while attending a wedding reception?  Well, if that reception happens to be catered by Sam Schultz of the magnificent Sammy's Burgers and Pie Shakes, then you are set.    No matter what flavor you get, it's going to be awesome.

This little girl above was kind of shy, and she wasn't too sure about the camera;  however that didn't stop her finishing off her shake!

Sam and his wife Nikki are some of the coolest people around.  If you get the chance to hang out with them, you should feel lucky.

Ok, cake's been cut, pie shakes have been eaten, and hands have been shaken.  Time to get the heck out of here!

Holli & David: The Shindig

As promised, here are a few faves from the rest of Holli and David's wedding reception in Draper.

The photo below pretty much illustrates the essence of Holli to anyone who doesn't already know her.  In short, she always makes you feel like she's excited to see you, and it is always genuine.  Such a fun person to be around!

The food was delicious- Holli and David take their barbeque seriously... mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I love this next sequence.

Hooray for live music!

Holli sang a love song for David right before they left for their honeymoon- it was lovely.

Huge grins?  Check.  Sweeeeeeet ride?  Check check.  Big 'ol fireworks display to send you on your way?  Check check check.  We're ready to rock.

That's all she wrote, folks.  Have a great night!

Holli & David: Vintage and Retro Reception Details

Just to continue gushing from last night, the details for Holli and David's reception were just so fun and so well done.  It didn't just have a lot of "cutesy vintage touches", but had lots of genuine and beautiful Americana elements.  It was around the 4th of July, after all!  And what could be more perfect to ride away in than a pristine red vintage Cadillac?

The food was absolutely amazing, but the best part?  This locomotive barbeque!

As you can see, the whole layout was very open, and just reminded me of what I picture when I think of an old-time southern barbeque or big extended family party.  I loved the setting they created for the receiving line here below.  Very artistic and full of color!!! I'm told that David himself actually painted most of these.... I wonder if he knew what he was getting into when he proposed?  Apparently he was awake at 7 am ON HIS WEDDING DAY to help set up this amazing reception.  Along with many other people, of course.  SO much work went into it, and I thought it went off perfectly.

You can get a little preview of David's reception suit here on the right...  Thomas thought it was perfect.  He is a huge fan of the "trad" or classic "prep" look (or so he tells me).  All I can say is that David looked fantastic, and I loved the lighter suit.

Despite how much I loved the vibrant colors everywhere, I really really liked Holli's bouquet (which didn't have ANY strong colors, just mostly shades of white).  It was so elegant, and I felt was a great counterpoint to everything else.

Ok, stay tuned tomorrow for some favorite photos from the rest of the reception!

Holli & David: LDS Draper Temple Wedding

The more I get to know Holli and David, the more impressed with them I get.  They are some of the nicest, genuine, and giving people I have met.  When I posted an S.O.S. on Facebook a couple of months ago looking for a few extra hands in loading up our moving truck, they immediately responded and said they would be there.  They showed up, and not only helped us load in Lehi, but drove up to West Jordan to help us unload... and they did it happily and with a smile on their faces. PLUS, they love metal prints almost as much as I do.  That in itself puts them pretty high in my book. :)

Their wedding was fantastic.  They knew exactly what they wanted, and had some amazing details.  The whole reception was like a big old-timey fair or carnival, where families would go and eat, relax, and just enjoy each other's company.  They had some great live music and a FANTASTIC get-away car.

I love happy people. I love to shoot them, I love to talk to them, and I love to be around them.  Just a few reasons why I like to hang around these two.

Don't these guys look amazing?  Holli looks absolutely fantastic, and David actually had TWO suits for the day... this awesome pinstripe, and then another summer suit for the reception.  Y'all will be able to check it out with the reception post... we'll do a details post tomorrow, and then the overall reception post on Wednesday.

Sneak Peek: Jessica & Luke at Temple Square

Jessica and Luke were married today!  It's a gorgeous and very very warm summer day, and they looked amazing.  We had a break between the photos at the Salt Lake LDS Temple and the start of the reception, so I hurried on home to import my cards and share a few favorites from today as a sneak peek.  I love how happy these two are together, and how that comes out in the pictures.

Just look at what a perfect day it is!  You couldn't ask for a better day to get married....

Ok, now Thomas and I are off to the reception!

Jessica & Luke- Formals Downtown at Temple Square

After finishing his MBA at BYU, Luke got a job with a firm in Chicago.  He only gets to see Jessica one weekend every two weeks, and who wouldn't want to spend those moments taking pictures? :)

Needless to say, there was quite a bit of smooching during the breaks.

Maria & Jonny- The Party at Log Haven

The reception at Log Haven Restaurant was gorgeous.  The details and the flowers were so colorful and bright!

These two girls flew all the way from Holland to attend Maria's wedding!  They were such fun to talk to, and I am glad to say that I will get to see them again.  I'm flying out to Holland next May to shoot Janaika's wedding! (She's got the orange glasses)

Weddings are so much fun to shoot because people are so happy at weddings.  I love to immortalize a great smile, or that perfect laugh.  I also love when people let loose and just have fun dancing!

Maria and Jonny were both so fun to work with, and so happy to be together.  I loved their wedding, and am grateful I was able to be there to help record some of the memories from the day.  Congratulations you two!

Maria and Jonny- Wedding Ceremony at Log Haven Restaurant

Maria and Jonny were married at the Log Haven Restaurant up Mill Creek Canyon.  The restaurant is quite a ways up there, but it is worth the drive!  Everywhere you look are gorgeous green trees, and the waterfall and the lake they have across from the restaurant aren't too shabby either.

I about died when the ring bearer walked down arm in arm with the flower girl.  SO CUTE.

Such a beautiful bride!

And we now present.... Mr. and Mrs. Matich!  Newly married and walking triumphantly back down the aisle.

Look at this gorgeous waterfall!  Definitely a big appeal for photos at Log Haven.

Photos from their reception to come!
