Wedding

Lindsey & Ben

I think Lindsey might be the most beautiful bride I've ever photographed.  She has such poise and a perfect smile.  I know her family because I took several photography lessons from her father, Kenneth Linge.  I've learned so much from him and felt so honored to be there with the family as the photographer (ok, maybe a little bit nervous too... and trying to remember everything I learned from my lessons!)
The wedding was at The Getaway at the Cascade Golf Center.  It's this amazing little building at the highest point in Orem overlooking the valley.  The view is absolutely spectacular!

Lindsey is one of the sweetest people I have met.  I was so glad I was there to show record how happy she and Ben were...

We stopped by the Riverwoods to shoot some newlyweds the same day as the cermony-  we got some fantastic shots!
Relaxed? Check.  Colorful?  Check.  Sweet textures?  Check.  Awesome laugh?  Check.

Janet + Adam (Kingdom Hall Ceremony)

Janet and Adam had a beautiful ceremony at their church.  Unfortunately, I didn't understand it - it was all in Spanish!  My husband Thomas said that the pastor gave some great advice to the couple though. I'll have to trust him on that one. Mi esposo sabe siempre. (I pick up bits here and there).

I might not speak Spanish very well, but all I need to know is that they are happy and I can see that by the looks on their faces as they walk down the aisle. Congratulations Janet and Adam!

's a Party

Receptions are always different.  Some are quiet, formal, and have more of a wine-and-cheese-tasting vibe.  Some are rowdy, loud, and feel more like a huge party.  Janet and Adam's reception at the Point was definitely more of the party variety.  They entered serenaded by a mariachi band, and after a nice sit down dinner got the all the reception traditions out of the way.  They cut the cake, had the traditional first dances, and then got down to business. These people were here to dance.

We're talking about 6 hours of straight party-like-you-mean-it, leave nothing out, grooving to the music.  It was awesome!  They had a 12 piece banda that played for about two hours (they put microphones on all the brass, including dropping one down the throat of the tuba- think I might have knocked a filling loose), and then they let the DJ go to work.  People were spinning, shaking their hips, and having a blast.  Not only were they having fun, but they were good! I got my white girl genes out there and tried, but... well... let's just leave it that in the future I'll leave the latin dancing to those who know what they're doing.

This little girl was absolutely adorable.  With her smile and tiara, I wasn't sure who was the princess today. She definitely gave Janet a run for her money.

The Storm of the Century!!!

Katie and Steven were married in the LDS Oquirrh Mountain Temple on a beautifully sunny but COLD November day.  They also had quite the experience the day before their wedding.  Here's the story in Katie's own words:

"Tuesday was supposedly the biggest storm Utah's seen in a long time. I'll admit that around the point of the canyon it got pretty bad but Provo didn't even have snow stick. Steven received the scariest phone call of his entire life. The temple receptionist called to inform him that due to the storm the temple was going to be closed on Wednesday (our wedding day). He asked if they were joking. They said no and that all ordinances were canceled. His mind started racing of what to do, so he asked how much longer they were going to be open (trying to see if we could drive up that night and get married) and if he could make a couple calls then call them back. They said they were closing and Steven said "Well I was only planning on getting married tomorrow." The receptionist realized she had called the wrong person because she went on to apologize and informed us that the temple was closed for all ordinances except for our wedding. Scariest phone call EVER! The wedding was great! Yes, I cried. How can you not cry as you look at the person who is making your dreams come true. The sealing room was packed full of people we love. Then we went outside to take pictures. I have never been more cold in my entire life! But I think the pictures turned out great!"

I loved the shoes.  Loved them!

The reception was Heritage Gardens, and it could not have been more gorgeous with all the holiday lights.... absolutely breathtaking.

Mike + Marie: The Big Show

Marie bought these beautiful shoes below for the wedding, but cracked her tibia shortly before their formals session.  So she ended up wearing the much more comfortable option above. :D

Something I really enjoy attending a wedding is seeing the relationship between the parents and their child.  Marie's parents were wonderful, and super supportive throughout the wedding.  Marie's dad was cracking jokes the whole time.
